As a coach (and former athlete) of a cheer squad in a lower income area in a rural community, I know exactly how expensive and inaccessible cheerleading opportunities can be. I've even driven my own squad over 8 hours one way to get them to camps and clinics they wanted to attend. I’ve tried to make cheerleading as affordable as possible for my athletes, but with the lack of fundraising opportunities for school squads it can be difficult. I can’t stand the fact that there are young aspiring athletes statewide that are passing on the opportunity to cheer strictly because of cost. I started brainstorming and came up with a solution: Cheer 406 LLC.
Athletes become members of Cheer 406 and participate in Cheer 406 fundraising events. Each member of Cheer 406 will have a sub account that will maintain their fundraising balance. Members may then request funds from their sub account to sponsor qualified cheer purchases. Members can only withdraw the total amount in their sub account. No sub accounts will be allowed to have a negative balance.
Create a platform for current (and aspiring) Montana cheerleaders to be able to fundraise separately from their associated cheer team to help offset cheer related expenses. Cheer 406 will also serve as a data bases of camps and clinics that are available for Montana Cheerleaders of all ages in Montana and surrounding areas.
Cheer 406 LLC would like to work with local cheer teams to create more cheer opportunities (such as camps) for younger aspiring athletes in areas that have very few opportunities.
Scholarhip Fund: Cheer 406 LLC would like to create a scholarship fund to offer to graduating high school seniors who are continuing to cheer at their undergraduate school of choice.
Building Programs: Cheer 406 LLC would like to help coaches build youth programs to create a better foundation for their high school programs.
